| Mission Statement: | The aim of this joint ELGI/NLGI working group is to focus on grease stability in non-functioning units such as containers or grease filled equipment in storage. Mission Statement: To establish valid, recognised procedures and test methods to predict shelf life of bulk greases and grease lubricated bearings Scope: Grease suppliers and end users Deliverables Terminology and definitions relating to shelf life. 1 To develop an accelerated test method that allows for the determination of shelf life per established definitions. (a) Method is to include effect of different grease types i.e. thickener and fluid types. (b) Ensure method addresses material compatibility and environmental conditions (Temperature, Humidity etc.) 2 Validate Test Method and present to internationally recognised consensus standards organisation(s) for adoption |
