2009 ELGI AGM Gothenburg, Sweden

21st ELGI AGM will be held on 25th to 28th April 2009 at the Radisson Hotel in Gothenburg.

Full details/programme, grease course, venue, registration, social and sporting events will be available in due course on the web and the Eurogrease magazine.

2008/2009 Best Paper Award

The 2008 best paper award will be presented to Steve Nolan from Lubrizol for his paper on “Evaluation of the low-temperature rheological properties of lubricating greases for centralised lubrication systems” at the AGM in Gothenburg.

At the 2009 AGM in Gothenburg we will nominate a presenter for the best paper again.

2009 AGM Call for Papers

The board of the ELGI invites submission of technical formulation, chemistry, manufacturing, marketing and application oriented papers for presentation at our 2009 Annual General Meeting and for subsequent publication in the Eurogrease magazine.  Articles covering other aspects of general interest to the grease community will be considered.  Papers from end users e.g. automotive, steel, or other industries are appreciated as well.

If you are interested in presenting a technical paper at our 2009 AGM then please contact the ELGI office in Amsterdam for our guidelines on presentations. 
The cut off date for sending a summary of your paper is 1st November 2008.

The REACH Consortium Committee (ERGTC) will meet on Tuesday 9th September 2009 at the Holiday Inn RAI in Amsterdam.

Food Grade Lubricants Working Group

Committee members of the Food grade lubricants working group met on 30th July at a meeting held by InS in Amsterdam regarding the new InS H1 lubricants registration option and ISO 21469. For information on this discussion please contact InS registration@insservices.eu or visit their website. Go

ELGI Test Methods & Rheology Working Group

The ELGI Test Methods Working Group committee will meet on Thursday 20th November 2008 at the ELGI office in Amsterdam.

ELGI Environment Working Group

The Environment Committee reconvened at the AGM in Lisbon.  One of the main topics discussed was the Revision of the EU Eco Label.  This committee subsequently met on 30th July in Amsterdam.  These minutes are available on request.

Please contact the chairman Perry Peters perry@lubes-portal.com or carol@elgi.demon.nl for information on the next meeting Monday 8th September in Amsterdam.

The committee agreed to list their concerns and problems encountered when registering the EU ECO Label before the revision of the EU ECO Label May 2009.  Proposals for input and  concerns must be sent to the competent body before 1st November.
